Jagdeep Dhankhar's Resignation: A Chapter Ends in India's Constitutional Journey

On July 21, 2025, Jagdeep Dhankhar , the Vice President of India, officially resigned from his post, citing health reasons. His resignation letter, addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, expressed gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility fulfilled. His sudden exit, midway through his term, left many surprised and reflective of the legacy he leaves behind. Early Life Born on May 18, 1951, in a small village named Kithana in Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan, Jagdeep Dhankhar’s life story is rooted in humble beginnings. As a child, he would walk 6 kilometers daily to attend school. His talent and discipline earned him a scholarship to the Sainik School in Chittorgarh. He went on to graduate with a degree in Physics from Maharaja’s College, Jaipur, and later completed his LLB from the University of Rajasthan.
